Okay so I understand the concept now of the REM sleep dynamic, part of your mind and body are shut down for sleep but you are still partially awake, hence seeing your room that you are 'sleeping' in and simultaneously being fed the neurons to dream. But why are they always dark or evil seeming? It is supposed to be hallucinic experiences, but in every culture all over the world, throughout recorded history and even upon reading other people's experiences online...everyone says they feel that there is something evil in there.
I think I talked about this in another post years ago, I'll have to check.

I think we, humans, like to feel like we are in control. The sleep paralysis seems terrifying because we feel helpless. Our minds just associate fear with evil.
Now, I'm scared. Thanks, Ryan.
